Cut the leaves down to 5 cm. so they can grow back, without cutting the entire cluster.

Conservation

 

In the refregirator, the chive will keep it's aroma for at least a week. Freeze in small plastic bags.

Culinary use

 

Use the leaves of the garlic chive in the same manner you would for the chive, taking into account their delicate flavour.

 

Often used fried in asian cooking to accompany certain dishes.

It is the most decorative chive. The plant produces green-blue leaves contrasting well with plants having a denser foliage. In mid august, the plant bears nice, umbel shaped, blue-purplish flowers that attracts looks. The flowers give off a light rose sce
