Freezing the leaves that have been brushed with olive oil. The dried leaves can be kept in an opaque and tightly sealed jar. The fresh leaves can be kept in oil or in vinegar.

Culinary use

 

The scent is not as strong as the long leave basil.

 

 

Use in sauces, salads, vegetable dishes, grills, and to flavour vinegars.

Edging plant used to create small clumps and small, low hedges.
